Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park, Kenya

Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park, Kenya, is situated on the south coast, forty kilometers from Ukunda town in Msambeni District of coast province.  The environment covers a marine area with four small islands surrounded by coral-reef.

Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park is 85 Km from Mombasa via Ukunda to Shimoni and lies 6 Km off the Kenyan coast (at Shimoni) and 8 Km north of the Tanzanian border and can be accessed by boats and local community

The Marine Park is 39sq km. and marine life comprises of more than 250-recorded fish species and climate is humid with mean annual temperatures ranging from 22-34°C rainfall is about 500 mm per annum.

There is no accommodation in the park but travelers can stay in Diani town which has a variety of accommodation for the client to choose from.

Kisite island is covered in low grass and herbs while Mpunguti Islands has a dense coastal equatorial forest. The main tourist attraction in the destination includes the coral gardens, dolphins, and it is a significant place for bird watching, snorkeling, and diving. The beautiful sandy beach is good for environmentally friendly recreational activities.
